Nerida Thorburn

Nerida is an award-winning senior corporate affairs specialist with more than 15 years experience providing counsel to organisations in Australia, the UK, Europe and Asia.

She specialises in developing communication plans to manage complex issues with multiple stakeholders and has particular expertise in healthcare, issues and crisis management and public affairs. Her work has been recognised in both the 2006 and 2007 PR Week Awards.

Recent projects of particular note include assignments to manage issues for new infrastructure projects, social marketing campaigns to address obesity issues and campaigns to have new infant vaccines funded for all children. She has also advised many clients on issues in a wide range of industry sectors.

Prior to joining Scaffidi Hugh-Jones, Nerida consulted for a number of international firms including Parker & Partners, Porter Novelli and Hill & Knowlton. Clients have included Roche, CSL, Merck, Emirates Hotels, Heart Foundation, Wyeth, Railtrack (UK), Visa International, European Chlorine Industry, Telstra, Reserve Bank of Australia and BHP Billiton.
